Define special …
As a minimum, you need your mobile phone and some good mobile reception. In its most rudimentary form, we record Grand Memories as though you were chatting on the phone.
Thinking practically, though, the conversation will take up to an hour and therefore, you need to consider your comfort during our conversation. Using your phone on “speaker mode” is not really a great option – there is generally some echo and, often, the first millisecond of your audio gets chopped off while the microphone realises that you are speaking. A much better option is a headset – either, the headset that came with your phone or a Bluetooth headset (including AirPods and other similar ear buds).
If you ARE going to be recording using a Bluetooth headset, please remember to charge it up so that it doesn’t disconnect during our conversation.
If you have a set-up like the guy in the photo above, that’s even better. We can get a much better audio quality using something like that but we wouldn’t expect you to rush out and set something like this up just for us.
